About Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary
The Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is spread across a bunch of islands in a picturesque area at the mouth of the Kadalundi River. It is one of the most beautiful bird Sanctuaries which is located on the border of Kozhikode District in Kerala, India.

Basically, the Kadalundi River flows into the Arabian Sea through the place, then the Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary was named. Passing through the Silent Valley, Kozhikode, and Malappuram, Originating from the Western Ghats, the Kadalundi River adds seven stars to this place. This Bird Sanctuary is named after passing the Beautiful River. Gram Panchayat of Vallikunnu and Kadalundi has managed this sanctuary. And, The agency takes care of this exotic reserve and the birds that live in it.
Birds and animals in the Kadalundi Sanctuary
There is both type of birds, Native and Migratory Birds available there. This Sanctuary is home to over a hundred species of native birds and 60 types of migratory birds, which come in large numbers from November to March. These are some Migratory Birds are seagulls, terns, sand-plovers, redshank, greenshank, sandpipers, Cormorant, and many more. Here, The Main Attractions are Malabar Hornbill, Darts, Kingfisher, Huimbrel Woodpeckers, Brahmani Kite, and many more.
This Bird Sanctuary also has much variety of Fish, Crabs, and many Oysters in the Calm water of the river. In addition, there are several species of Crocodiles, snakes, and turtles that are also found here. The mangrove plants shelter the Sanctuary the otters and the foxes.
